Welcome to Westfield State College's eTutoring! FREE eTUTORING for all WSC students.
Fall e tutoring services will not begin until after add drop the second week of school.
Westfield State College students, will have ongoing access to online professional tutoring services in the following areas:
- Writing
- Math (from the developmental level through Calc II)
- Accounting
- Biology (including Anatomy & Physiology)
- Chemistry
- Information Literacy (and Research Methods)
- Spanish
- Statistics
Be aware, too, that if future demand is there, other tutoring areas may be added!
eTutoring Resources
- Online Writing Lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive your work back with a tutor's comments within 24 to 48 hours. (You may submit three drafts per paper.)
- Live Tutoring via eChat allows you to meet with a tutor in one-one-one tutoring sessions via a fully interactive, virtual online environment.
- Offline Questions allows you to leave a specific question for an eTutor, who will respond within 48 hours (but usually sooner).
Getting Ready to Use eTutoring
- Your user name is your first initial, last name, and last four digits of your cwid. Your password is your complete college wide id (cwid) - See below for example.
Login Example : John Doe (A10012345) Username: jdoe2345 Password: A10012345 Note: If last name contains more than 15 characters use only the first 15 characters of last name in the username.
- Change your password if you choose after your initial log in.
- Read and accept the eTutoring Terms and Conditions by checking the "I agree to all terms and conditions" box at the bottom of the page.
- Click on one of the eTutoring Resources on the welcome page. (You're off and running!)
Using eChat
- If you choose eChat, you'll see that colored tutor icons will indicate which tutors are online. Just click on the icon if you wish to converse with a tutor.
- If a tutor isn't available for eChat, you can leave a message through Offline Questions.
The Weekly Tutor Schedules are available on the lower right-hand side of the welcome page. If you need assistance, with technical issues click here for etutoring support. If it is a password issue click on the cit help desk to submit a help ticket.
