Welcome University of Bridgeport students to the free online tutoring site. Our participation in online tutoring is just another way to make your experience at UB productive and successful.
As a University of Bridgeport undergraduate and master's level student, you will have ongoing access to online professional tutoring services in the following areas:
Anatomy & Physiology l
Calculus I and Calculus II
Mathematics (Developmental through Pre-Calculus)
Information Literacy and Research Methods
Writing including Graduate Level
Grad A&P, Biochemistry, Pathology
Online Writing Lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive your work back with a tutor's comments within 24 to 48 hours. (You may submit three drafts per paper.)
Live Tutoring via eChat allows you to meet with a tutor in one-one-one tutoring sessions via a fully interactive, virtual online environment.
Offline Questions allows you to leave a specific question for an eTutor, who will respond within 48 hours (but usually sooner).
Getting Ready to Use eTutoring
To log in, first choose Northeast eTutoring Consortium, then University of Bridgeport as your institution in the right-hand dropdown box.
Undergraduate students have been pre-registered. Your username is your UBnet username; your password is your student ID number. If you must be added later in the semester, after our initial upload of students, you will receive a temporary password that you may change to somemthing more memorable.
You may change your password after your initial log in.
Read and accept the eTutoring Terms and Conditions by checking the "I agree to all terms and conditions" box at the bottom of the page
Click on one of the eTutoring Resources on the welcome page. (You're off and running!)
If you choose eChat, you'll see that colored tutor icons will indicate which tutors are online. Just click on the icon if you wish to converse with a tutor. Note that your browser must be set to allow pop-ups in order for eChat to work.We recommend using a Firefox browser with eChat.
If a tutor isn't available for eChat, you can leave a message through Offline Questions.
The Weekly Tutor Schedules are available on the lower right-hand side of the welcome page. If you still need assistance, send an e-mail to email@example.com . If you would like to see a demonstration of etutoring, please visit us at the Tutoring and Learning Center in Wahlstrom Library Suite 506.
Also include the onsite Tutoring and Learning Center in your academic schedule. We are open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Although we can sometimes accommodate walk-ins, an appointment is advised. THOSE WITH WRITING APPOINTMENTS MUST BRING A HARD COPY.
