Welcome to eTutoring, a FREE service for CCV Students!
Please note: eTutoring will be closed March 29. We apologize for the inconvenience.
eTutoring is available Jan. 30 - May 5, 2017
The Online Writing Lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive a tutor's response within 24-48 hours.
Live Tutoringvia eChat allows you to meet with a tutor in one-on-one tutoring sessions via a fully interactive, virtual online environment. Live sessions are offered for Accounting, Math, Calculus, Statistics, Information Literacy and Research Methods, Biology--including Anatomy & Physiology, and Chemistry.
Theoffline eQuestions allow you to leave a specific question for an eTutor, who will respond within 48 hours.eQuestions may be submitted for any of the subject areas covered.
Resource Repository (see Resource tab after login) provides study guides and other reference materials for most eTutoring subjects.
Student Evaluation of Services
Approximately 48 hours after you use an eTutoring tool you will be sent a very brief survey link via email. We ask that you complete this brief survey so we can better serve your needs.
As a CCV student, you have access to eTutoring in the following subject areas:
Writing (all subjects)
Math (developmental through pre-calculus)
Calculus I and II
Anatomy & Physiology I
Information Literacy and Research Methods
If you choose eChat, colored tutor icons will show which tutors are online. Click on the icon you wish to “chat” with. Note that your browser must be set to allow pop-ups in order for eChat to work.
If a tutor isn’t available for eChat, you can leave the tutors an eQuestion.
The Weekly Tutor Schedules are available in the lower right hand side of the welcome page.
For problems with eTutoring (once you have logged in), go to the SUPPORT link at the top-right corner of the page. You will be linked to FAQs, as well as a help desk function. You can also get help at the new eTutoring Support website here.
Leave plenty of time before your assignment is due. eTutors usually review writing submissions within 28-48 hours, but the wait could be longer during "crunch" times.
You can leave a question on the eTutoring website anytime, and an instructor will get back to you. There is a posted schedule of eTutors' hours for your convenience.
eTutors can help you become a better writer or problem solver; however, they cannot do the work for you. More information on how to use eTutoring can be found in the Student Resources section of the CCV portal.
For eQuestions and the Online Writing Lab, you will be limited to no more than two submissions (waiting for a response) at any given time.
No assignment/paper can be submitted to eTutoring more than three times. If the piece is long, eTutors will do what they can in about 30 minutes, and start with the higher order concerns (organization, argument, etc.) first.
Please use eTutoring for assistance with your CCV courses. Many students have found that eTutoring helps them improve their work and get better grades!
