Welcome to The University of Rio Grande’s and
Rio Grande Community College’s eTutoring

Spring Semester 2014

January 21 - May 2, 2014


If you are interested in scheduling a face-to-face tutor, please contact the Jenkins Center   245-7400 or 245-7338 or come to Rhodes Student Center 101 between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

As a Rio Grande student, you have access to eTutoring in the following subject areas:

*        Math (from the developmental level through Calculus II)

*        Statistics

*        Biology

*        Chemistry

*        Writing across the curriculum

*     Physics

Additional resources for writing and mathematics are available!

Getting Started:  The eTutoring Login is as follows:

1. Open Rio Grande’s Home Page, go to Supported Links and click “eTutoring.”

2. Enter your student ID number (no “S” before ID#).  The password is riogrande.  Click Student.
Note:  You will have the opportunity to change your password after your first login.  To do this click “Profile” at the top of the screen. eTutoring is not connected to any of your other Rio accounts; changing your password here will NOT change it in another account.

3. Congratulations!  You can begin your eTutoring experience.  Click on one of the eTutoring resources.

eTutoring Resources

§Online Writing Lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive your work back with a tutor's comments within 24 to 48 hours.  (You may submit three drafts per paper.)

§Offline Questions allows you to leave a specific question for an eTutor, who will respond within 48 hours (but usually sooner).

§Tutoring via synchronous chat with tutors in math (from the developmental level through Calculus II) and chemistry.

The Weekly eTutor Schedules are available on the lower right-hand bottom of the welcome page.


Math, chemistry and writing tutors are also available through the Jenkins Center located in Rhodes Student Center 101 (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).


If you need additional assistance with the eTutoring platform, come to the Jenkins Center.
